Guided tours
Admission is free, but visitors are requested to donate for the upkeep of the buildings. Guided tours are only available after written registering with the monastery administration. The abbey offers daily guided tours for groups in German an also English from Easter to November 1st.
Tour times:
For English speaking Groups after request:
- On Saturdays and Sundays: 02.00 p.m.
- On weekdays: 10.00 a.m. and 02.00 p.m.
For German speaking Groups after request:
- On Saturdays and Sundays: 03.00 p.m.
- On weekdays: 11.00 a.m. and 03.00 p.m.
The guided tour takes approximately 50 minutes.
From small groups up to 10 people the abbey requests for a tour of around 40 €.
For bigger groups a donation of around 4 € per person are requested.
Besides guided tours in German tours for English speaking people are also available. In addition to the donation the guides charge is 30 €. English speaking groups should contact us in advance via E-Mail or telefax:

From november to Easter during there are no guided tours, because in the abbey church there is no heating.
Guided tours for individual visitors
Since July 12th 2022 there has been a digital church guide as an addition. Please use your personal smartphone for this purpose.
In the entrance area of the abbey church you will find a sign with instructions how to use it.
In addition to the headphones and your personal smartphone, you only need an app for the QR code scanner, which you can download on your smartphone at home.
Listen with your headphones or read on your smartphone in German or English. The tour lasts abbout an hour.
Please connect first to the provided network and scan the QR code with your smartphone.
Subsequently, scan the QR Code for the tour of Neresheim abbey and its abbey church.
Digital tours are possible outside of church services as follows:
On Sundays and church holidays
10.00 a.m. to 11.55 a.m.
01.00 p.m. to 05.25 p.m.
Monday to Saturday
10.00 a.m. to 11.55 a.m.
01.00 p.m. to 05.55 p.m.
Please also note that weddings and baptisms can also take place in the abbey church in addition to the services and hourly prayers of the monastic community, during which time digital church tours with your personal smartphone are also not possible.
Behave please quiently in the church and behave appropriately for a place of contemplation. During services, we would like to ask you to refrain from walking around the church and to postpone your tour until after the service.
